THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PRACTICE

Barbara Gordon-Cohen, D.O. has been practicing Family Integrative Medicine and Osteopathy, since 1991.

Doctor Barbara was a former competitive gymnast at the University of Connecticut.  Gymnastics is a sport that focuses on  internal strength, grace and outer beauty. Through her prospective medical training she learned various treatment approaches that focused on the inner balance.  Doctor Barbara took it one step further and is certified in Yoga and Journey Dance; enhancing balance of the body, mind and spirit. She has utilized in her own personal life techniques such as Yoga, Osteopathy, Meditation and Nutrition to help create balance in her life thus extending this balance into her practice. She has found for her patients and herself that positive inner changes could facilitate positive external beauty, and vice-versa.  Her patients were doing inner healing work, but simultaneously were asking for tools to soften the natural aging process. The Doctor sought additional training and certification in Cosmetic Enhancement, and Anti-Aging , Weight Loss and Bioidentical Hormones that could help her patients come full circle to maintain their health.
